FluoroThane series superhydrophobic coatings reduce signal attenuation caused by rain, ice and snow storms. Major advantages of these coatings include, rain fade reduction, minimize signal loss in Ku and Ka bands and eliminate water film formation. FluoroThane can be applied on metals, plastics, ceramic, etc. Major applications for FluoroThane include:
-- Prevent signal loss due to rain, ice and snow on satellite dishes, radomes, and antenna arrays
-- Reduce signal loss due to rain on wind and radiometric sensors
-- Reduce ice and snow accumulation on mid-path passive reflectors and repeaters
-- Protect moisture sensitive telecommunications equipment including circuit boards, motors, switches and connectors

FluoroThane-MH

FluoroThane-MH is a durable super hydrophobic coating formulated for antenna, radomes and telecommunications gear. FluoroThane-MH provides over 140° water contact angle performance in extreme sun and rain for many years. FluoroThane-MH also reduces snow and ice accumulation under most conditions.  FluoroThane-MH is near-transparent frosty in color. When FluoroThane-MH is sprayed over colored devices the original color is largely retained. FluoroThane-MH is a one-part coating formulated for spray, brush or roll application. The coating is rain resistant after 4 hours and is fully cured in 5 days. One gallon covers 200 to 400 square feet. Samples are for academic and industrial research use only.

FluoroThane-MW

FluoroThane-MW is super-hydrophobic coating used on marine and ground-based microwave antenna, radomes and other telecommunications gear.  FluoroThane-MW provides over 150° contact angle performance in extreme sun and rain for over five years. Under heavy rain conditions, Ka band ground stations using  FluoroThane-MW report rain attenuation (rain fade) losses of only 0.2 dB compared to 10 dB losses for uncoated systems (Hughes Network Systems). Side by side tests between coated and uncoated DirecTV antennas demonstrate 15-20% margins in signal strength during heavy rain, i.e., when signal from uncoated dish drops out at 45%, the coated dish maintains operation at 60-65%. MW is also reported to protect against snow and ice accumulation under most conditions.  FluoroThane MW is available in frosty white and in tints of green, blue, tan and grey. For custom tints please contact Cytonix.  FluoroThane-MW is a single-part, air-cured coating formulated for spray, brush or roll application. The coating is rain resistant after 2-6 hours, substantially cured in 24 hours and is fully cured in 5 to 10 days. Surface temperatures should be between 32 and 95 degrees F. One gallon covers 200 to 400 square feet. Samples are for academic and industrial research use only.

WX2100 [11 Oz. Aerosol Can]
